Container Garden Contest
The Container Contest is judged by the public during the two-day event, and the People's Choice awards will be presented, Sunday at 3 pm. The terrific prizes are donated by local business and garden centers. Join us and show us your creativity.
Adults and children are invited to participate in the contest by bringing the special garden you created in a planter, a crock, a tub, or any funky container that appeals to you.
Think you don’t have a green thumb? Afraid to try creating a big garden? Always wanted to have your own little garden spot? Then here is the solution to your dilemma: the GardenFest Container Contest sponsored by Wegmans.

Get your Questions Answered in Hennepin Park
A Master Gardener, representing the Cornell Cooperative Extension, was in the Gazebo in Hennepin Park to answer gardening questions and perform soil tests.
Speaker Series in Front of the Frontier House
Saturday June 15th
11 a.m. Tim Zimmerman, CNLP, will be joining us again to share his wealth of knowledge in a program entitled, " What's New & Nice for 2024 in the Shrub and Perennial Yards". Tim is a sales representative for Medford Nursery, a wholesale grower based in Southern New Jersey providing container grown material to garden centers and landscapers throughout the North East. He is a Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional (CNLP) and has 20 years of experience as a landscape designer and estimator in WNY, including 13 years as the landscape manager with Menne Nursery in Amherst, NY. His projects have been honored with PLANT WNY Awards, NYSNLA honorable mention and been profiled in Nursery Lines Magazine. Tim now provides instructional training and seminars at garden centers and trade association shows throughout New York State and NW Pennsylvania.
1 p.m. David Clark, CNLP returns to the Speaker Series and will be presenting, "Shade Gardening including Companions for Hosta plants". David has a degree in Floriculture from SUNY at Cobleskill. He is a multi-talented educator and trainer, event director, garden show judge, floral symposium stage designer and successful wholesale florist with over 30 years' experience in the professional ornamental horticulture industry. In August 2023, David was awarded the NYS Landscape Association's Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional of the year for the State of New York.
Sunday June 16th
1 p.m. Carol Ann Harlos, Master Gardener and Journalist will increase your gardening knowledge with her informative presentation, "Sex in the Garden".
